2017, Young Women's Leadership Event  

“Leaders for Life/Better Together"

For:

Female students grades 10-12th, attending a HS in the Osceola County School District       

       
“Leaders for Life –Better Together” Young Women’s Leadership Event was held on August 1, 2017, from 7:30am-4:30pm, at Valencia College, Osceola Campus.  Attendees were trained in leadership skills from successful women throughout the community.

Our keynote speaker this year was Kay Rawlins, Co-founder of the Orlando City Soccer team.  All sessions were devoted to empowering, encouraging, and inspiring our future leaders to think big, dream big, and become more for the 2017-18 school year and beyond. The agenda included the following topics: Leadership Training- Ali Iorio, Entrepreneurship- Kelly Trace, Body Language- Annetta Wilson, Safety- Lt. Trudi Carroll, Health and Wellness- Marie Tortora, Dress for Success- Twis Lizasuain, Reflections- Chianti Sivek. 

In addition, one attendee, Patricia Urena, a senior from Celebration HS, won a $1,000 scholarship from the Education Foundation (Osceola) to be used toward a college or school of her choice upon graduating from high school. All attendees were provided breakfast and lunch along with a Leadership Certificate of Participation.
